Artisanal Calabrian Milk Biscuits are a classic baked treat from the Calabrian tradition, born of simple ingredients and skilled craftsmanship. Large, thick, and rustic in texture, these biscuits were once made using just a few basic pantry staples—flour, eggs, sugar, and milk.

Baked in traditional wood-fired ovens, they were among the few sweet treats found on Calabrian family tables. Their hearty texture makes them perfect for dunking in milk, just as was done at breakfast in the old days. It is a simple, wholesome ritual that evokes a time when a handful of ingredients was all it took to create a treat that brought the whole family together around the table. A tradition that lives on in the Sila region: to this day, these biscuits are produced in a historic bakery in San Giovanni in Fiore—in the heart of Sila—faithfully following the traditional recipe. We use the same simple ingredients and artisanal methods of the past.

The dough is still carefully worked by hand, and each biscuit retains the large, thick, rustic shape that has always defined it. We have chosen to preserve and carry on this tradition, keeping alive the authentic flavor of the biscuits that once graced Calabrian breakfast tables. From the heart of Sila—a traditional biscuit, still made today just as it was in the past.
