Les Granetti, qui ne diffèrent du frese que par leur forme allongée, sont un type de pain grillé dur créé pour le besoin des familles d'avoir un substitut au pain frais à utiliser quotidiennement. La pâte est la même que le pain mais le traitement est un peu différent. La fresa, comme le granetto, est essentiellement un pain grillé avec une forme allongée comme le long sandwich puis grillé au fur et à mesure qu'il est remis au four et donc grillé.
