This is the only Calabrian bomb to be made with a mix of mushrooms and hot pepper. It is an artisanal product of the highest quality made following a recipe of the sila where during the time of the mushroom picking in spring and autumn they were preserved in different forms: mainly in oil or dried. One of the recipes used was also to put the mushrooms cut into very fine pieces together with the hot pepper in order to create a preserve with a unique flavor.
Hence the Boma Silana, a product that lends itself to being used as an appetizer, on bruschetta but also in sauce or on main courses as a condiment.
